The CHSHL season got underway again after the Christmas break and Donnini's Invitational. The Gander Concordes faced off against the EVH Eagles at the Joe Byrne Arena in GFW. The Eagles got out to the early lead in the 1st on a goal by Zac Collins, his first of the year. However, the hard working Concordes proceeded to control the game after the first period, scoring 3 goals in the 2nd and 1 in the 3rd. Nicholas Matchim notched a hat trick for the Concordes in their victory. The game was a chippy one, seeing a total of 17 penalties before the final buzzer. CHSHL action continues on February 3rd, when the EVH Eagles play host to the Lewisporte Lynx at the Windsor Stadium.
